Why voice matters

A photograph lets you see them. A memoir lets you know them. Their voice lets you hear them again.

Every answer can keep its original recording. Long after the memoir is written, a grandchild can open a chapter and hear the pause before the funny part, the particular way their grandfather said a name, the accent nobody in the family has anymore.

  • You own everything you record and upload.Your recordings, transcripts, photographs and documents remain yours. We claim no ownership of them.
  • Your stories are not used to train AI models.Not by us, and not by anyone we use to transcribe speech or suggest follow-up questions - it is written into our terms, not just our policy.
  • Private by default.Nothing is public. Your memoir is visible to your account alone until you deliberately share it.
  • You choose what family sees.Sharing happens through a link you create and can revoke. Contributions from family are held for your approval first.
  • You can take it with you.Export your memoir as a PDF, and download your original audio and photographs, whenever you want.
  • Deletion means deletion.Ask us to delete your memoir and the stories, recordings and uploads are permanently removed - not archived.

Who built this

An estate planning lawyer who kept hearing the same regret.

MyLifeMemoir was created by Carl B. Zacharia, its founder and Legacy Architect. He has practiced estate planning and elder law for more than 32 years, which put him in the room for thousands of family conversations about the end of a life.

What families grieved losing was rarely on the balance sheet. It was a parent’s voice, a grandparent’s memories, and the questions the children wished they had asked while there was still time. No will or trust captures any of that - so he built something that does.
